Upon graduation he received his commission as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Army. After finishing his tour of duty, Arlo met Jane at the Pentecostal Church in Bemis, Tennessee on his way back to St. Louis. They became engaged and went to Apostolic Bible Institute (ABI) in St. Paul, Minnesota and were married during the Christmas break. Between their second and third years of Bible school, their first son was born. They both graduated together. Arlo also obtained his Master's Degree at the University of Minnesota while attending ABI. Last year, Jane and Arlo celebrated their 44th wedding anniversary. They have three grown children, Ed, Glenda, and Sam and four grandchildren. After graduating from ABI, they went to Stevens Point, Wisconsin to start a home missions church and teach at Wisconsin State University. From there they moved back to St. Louis where Arlo obtained a Doctor of Science degree in chemical engineering. Since that time Arlo has been a registered professional engineer with experience in a number of companies, including Shell Oil, Rohm & Haas, and Monsanto, has pastored a church in High Wycombe, England, and has taught and served in various administrative positions at Gateway College of Evangelism, Conquerors Bible College, Christian Life College, and Apostolic Bible Institute. All told they have been in Bible college work for over 25 years. The initial purpose for writing this book was for use in the courses that he taught. However, it is also his desire to pass on this material to those who never had the opportunity to attend his classes. He is guided by a philosophy in which he wants to accomplish things that will live on after he dies. Teaching and writing are the two major methods by which he hopes to accomplish this. Dr. Moehlenpah's current ministry involves teaching as an adjunct faculty member at several Bible institutes and conducting creation, personal finance, and teacher training seminars.
